The Oregon Army and Air National Guard are community-based, part-time service organizations that provide students and educators access to a wide range of career technical education (CTE) pathways, leadership training, and educational benefits.
Across the Army and Air National Guard, there are more than 140 career fields aligned with construction, engineering, logistics, healthcare, information technology, cybersecurity, aviation, administration, public affairs, emergency management, and skilled trades. Opportunities range from part-time service with full-time civilian careers to full-time positions, apprenticeships, and specialized technical training.
In addition to career exposure, the National Guard offers education benefits that can cover up to 100% of tuition at Oregon public colleges and universities, along with scholarships, certifications, and paid training. Members live and work in their local communities and serve under the Governor of Oregon, supporting state missions such as disaster response, emergency management, and community support.
The Oregon National Guard is available to support schools through guest speaking, career fairs, job shadowing, advisory committees, leadership workshops, scholarships, and career exploration activities that help students understand real-world pathways without obligation.
