Join this immersive workshop focused on the wide range of forest products — from timber to non-timber forest products — while exploring their role in small-scale forestry. This hands-on experience provides practical, place-based strategies and opportunities to learn directly from small woodland owners and university experts. Participants will engage in interactive activities covering topics such as forest management, tree measurement, shiitake mushroom cultivation, maple sugaring, nature journaling and citizen science tools like iNaturalist, as well as building partnerships with local forestry groups. Attendees will also receive ready-to-use educational materials from Project Learning Tree and the Oregon Forest Resources Institute to bring forestry concepts into their own teaching environments.

Audience: Geared toward 6-12th grade educators, formal and nonformal, but all grade levels are welcome
