DESCRIPTION:September 25\, 2026Oregon City\, OR \nThis interactive workshop examines the link between food waste and climate change through hands-on activities\, expert demonstrations and group discussions\, highlighting how waste reduction can conserve resources\, cut greenhouse gas emissions\, save money and improve food security. Participants will explore Oregon-specific policies\, school initiatives and best practices while gaining classroom-ready resources and strategies to engage students in food waste reduction projects. School staff involved in food services and operations will learn about sustainable practices — such as reusable serviceware\, share tables\, food recovery programs and waste-reducing equipment — as well as funding opportunities.
